01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Stepping through the door of Rancho, set back toward the residential streets of Ayase, reveals a retro Showa-era space arranged primarily around booth seats. The interior is well known as a filming location for television dramas and music videos, with photographs decorating the room. At the same time, the welcoming master keeps a watchful eye over the floor, and the shop maintains an easygoing rhythm driven by locals stopping in for everyday meals.
Fragrant Napolitan and Substantial Teishoku Sets
Among the food offerings, the classic Napolitan pasta stands out. Cooked over high heat to cook off excess moisture, the dish combines bacon, mushrooms, and onions with spaghetti coated in aromatic, slightly caramelized ketchup for a deeply satisfying plate. Despite being a traditional coffee shop, Rancho also prepares a solid lineup of teishoku set meals. Options like daily lunch specials featuring chicken katsu or grilled fish, as well as hamburger steak and ginger pork, make reliable choices when hunger calls at midday. Most lunches include a choice of drink, such as coffee, tea, or milk.
From Morning Sets to Sweet Afternoon Breaks
Opening at 8:00, the morning service covers toast and hotcakes alongside Japanese-style breakfasts such as grilled fish with natto (fermented soybeans). For an afternoon pause, classic kissaten sweets take center stage: old-fashioned chocolate parfaits piled with whipped cream, ice cream, and fruit, colorful cream sodas, and tart cheesecake. On-site parking is also available, making it a convenient stop during a neighborhood stroll or between travels.
